And today I'm joined by Guardian leader-writer and opinion columnist Raphael Burr. Hello, Raf. How's it going on this very boring and uneventful week? I'm doing fairly well, I think, under the circumstances. I mean, you say some of the weird stories and some of the big stories. Obviously, those are the same thing now. So that should be quite efficient. Well, let's start off with the weird story that is the big story, the pantomime at the World Economic Forum in Davos, which Donald Trump effectively turned into the Donald Trump show.

He again demanded stroke, threatened a US takeover of Greenland, calling it vital for US and NATO security, and warning mob style that America would remember the countries that blocked a deal, a deal that

nobody asked for. He threatened tariffs of 10 to 25% on eight European nations who are standing in

the way, and he informed a room full of world leaders that without us, right now, you'd all be speaking

German. German is the most spoken language in Switzerland, which is where Davos is. Then, after all the bluster on Wednesday evening, Trump announced that force was off the table,

and he and his great mate, NATO Chief Mark Rutter, had agreed a framework for the Greenland deal,

a great one for the US and all NATO nations.
