Hey, it's Anna. I remember exactly where I was standing in my kitchen when I heard the episode we're going to share with you today.

0:07.8

It was my first time hearing it because I was on maternity leave. It was 2019, an actor, Mahershala Ali, was one of our guest host while I was out.

0:17.3

He'd been a guest on the show before, and then he went on to win two Oscars, and we were thrilled

0:22.4

when he agreed to do an interview for death, sex, and money.

Mahershullah is from Oakland, and he asked to interview another actor from the Bay Area, Rafael

same name.

1:13.2

Yeah.

1:14.0

And he, he's one of the more active listeners I've ever encountered.

1:21.3

And so it felt like a very safe conversation.

1:25.4

Oh.

1:25.8

Not in terms of subject matter, but in terms of the care that every moment

1:31.5

was handled with. That spirit of generosity and listening really came through for me when I

1:40.2

heard this episode. And I'm excited for you all to hear it today, especially if you're new to our show

1:45.4

and haven't heard this one before.
