There's a town in South Dakota called Deadwood

It's a somewhat famous old West town

You might recognize the name from its place and the legend of Wild Bill Hickock or perhaps from the HBO show of the same name

If you think about anything when you hear the name Deadwood, you probably think about saloons and gun bites and prospecting of her gold

You probably don't think about boulders

But in 1982, it wasn't a duel with pistols that caused the death of David Crocket Roads

It was a boulder to the head

Who wielded the rock though?

That would remain a mystery for over 20 years until a beer can, a tattoo and a bus full of hippies led police to the killer
