I'm Bob Harris. And just a little more than a year after the chiefs tried to land him in free agency,

Andre Hopkins is heading to Kansas City at a trade from the Titans.

According to multiple reports, the two sides are working to finalize a deal in which the Titans

would receive a conditional fourth-round draft pick that should be completed today.

The chiefs have had a need at wide receiver since Ray- Rice suffered a right knee injury in week that's already ruled them out for

Sunday's game against the Raiders. Underdogs James Palmer said Smith-Shuster's

setback set the wheels of motion on this one but as I mentioned at the top the

chiefs were one of the teams in the running to sign Hopkins in

2023 after his release from Arizona, but Tennessee outbid them.

He's in the final season of that two-year deal he signed with the Titans.

He suffered a torn MCL during the off-season, but Hopkins recovered for the season opener.

He has 15 catches, 173 yards in a touchdown in six games so far this year.

He's wide receiver 74 on the season with a fairly meager 6.4 points per game.

So in addition to being good news for Hopkins himself,

this move gives quarterback Patrick Mahomes

another target to mix in with the remaining healthy wideouts on the team,

rookie Xavier Worthy and Justin Watson who have a combined

22 catches through week 7.

Palmer added two points.

The plan is to prepare Hopkins to play against the Raiders this Sunday.

It's early, but we should have a better idea of what kind of workload the team anticipates by the end of the week.
