They've also accused the Israeli forces of using tear gas inside a hospital children's ward.

Israeli reports say security forces enter the town of Janine to arrest a member of the armed group Islamic Jihad.

The raid began early this morning. More than 100 Israeli military vehicles surrounded buildings, say witnesses.

Taxi driver, Muhammad Amori, stopped near a UN clinic when he saw Israeli special forces storm in.

We heard gunshots. We fled into the Janine club and we stayed under siege there for three hours.

The army besieged us in the club and we heard the sounds of clashes.

After about an hour, military bulldozers destroyed cars on both sides of the road, then destroyed the club's wall.

Palestinians say ambulances were prevented from reaching the wounded, calling the situation critical.

The Israeli army says it surrounded a building to capture Islamic Jihad militants, a huge gunfight, then erupted.

Health officials say an elderly woman was among those killed.
