Okay, and we are live. My guest today is Sky Borgman.

She is award-winning directors in cinematography,

cinematographer, probably best known for the true crime documentary abducted in plain sight.

That documentary, amazed and riveted audience,

this is when it premiered on Netflix in 2017.

Borgman is back with a new documentary on Brooke Preston's Killer,

Randy Herman Jr., entitled Dead Asleep. The title refers to Herman's defense that he was, that he stabbed Brooke Preston

25 times while he was a sleep.

Dead asleep premieres on Hulu this Thursday, December 16th. Welcome, Sky Borgman.

Ah, thank you so much. It's nice to be here. So what made you want to do this documentary?

Really, it was the sleepwalking element. I had never really heard of anybody saying that they killed someone in their sleep.

And obviously, you know, when it happened and when I was first thinking about this,

I googled and found other people who had used a sleepwalking defense.

But it was something that just was kind of outside of something I really knew much about.

And that's what was the most interesting to me was that question.

I mean, can someone really killing their sleep?

And what were the challenges to making this documentary?

I mean, really, it's exactly that.

I mean, I think that we don't really know what happened, nor will we ever really know what happened.

I mean, by the end of the film, you know, what Randy, you know, went through the legal system and you know what happens to him.
