First, a trip to Washington, D.C.

Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes-Norton has represented the District of Columbia in the House for 30 years. As a delegate from the district that is not a state, she doesn't have the right to vote

for legislation on the House floor, but that might change. Her colleagues in the House voted

a week ago in favor of making D.C. a state.

Looking over the three decades that you've been in Congress,

what has changed powerfully for the better in terms of equity and what is still lagging behind?

How do you measure success?

We certainly can look at what has been accomplished for women and what has been accomplished for African Americans

as leaning in toward success.
