| 0:15.0 | Today we're beginning a new one, the book of Ezra. |
| 0:18.0 | And the book of Ezra Nehemiah in the original, Nehemiah, in the original Hebrew text, were actually one book, |
| 0:22.8 | but of course, scholars have since divided it up because of their subject matter and the focus of it. |

| 1:03.8 | chapter should chronologically be placed after Second Chronicles. So after Babylon has destroyed |
| 1:10.0 | Jerusalem, the people have been in captivity for |
| 1:12.6 | about 50 years, and now King Cyrus, the king of Persia, is going to send the people back to Jerusalem. |
| 1:19.2 | And we saw the prophecies of that taking place. Cyrus's name even mentioned in prophecy like |
| 1:24.8 | a hundred years prior. And so now we're going to see that happening. And we begin the rebuilding of Jerusalem. We're reading from the ESV by Crossway Translation.
