Rosie hated working the day shift. The money wasn't as good, and neither were the vibes. The customers who came into the strip club during daylight hours were usually too cheap or didn't stay long enough

to spend. Today was no different. Rosie was in her pink microchini, undulating against the pole

for only two sad old men. She looked over at the bar area, trying to catch the attention of her favorite bartender,

the only thing that made the day shift bearable when she spotted a familiar face.

Was that Warren? Her ex-boyfriend, Warren? Warren, who was supposed to have moved to Chicago she watched as he caught her gaze giving her a nod and a smile he had spotted her he recognized her even with her new hair color and her heavily made-up face.

Rosie's body was hot, and it wasn't just because of the stage lights.

She tried to keep her mind focused on the rest of the song,

hinging at the waist and bending over in front of one of the old men

So he could tuck bills into the string of her bikini

She blew him a kiss and went back to the pole

She turned around so that no one could see her face

If they could see her face,

they'd probably wonder why she looked so confused and annoyed.

She couldn't work knowing that her ex-boyfriend,

of all people, was watching her.

When the song had finished,

Rosie wrapped herself up in a silk robe and rushed to the bar,

where Donnie already had a sugar-free red bull and cranberry waiting for her.

Rosie, hey, stop!

She turned around to face Warren. His cheeks red.

What are you doing here?

He sighed and held up his hands.
