0:11.1	Have you ever faced a conversation or a meeting that you were absolutely dreading?
0:16.6	Maybe it was with someone that you hurt or even someone that had hurt you. Maybe it was a
0:22.3	relationship that had been strained for a long time and you didn't even know if peace was possible.
0:27.6	If you've ever been in that place, then you understand exactly where Jacob is in this part of
0:32.5	the story. The last time Jacob saw his brother Esau, Esau was threatening to kill him. It's why he left in the
0:39.6	first place. Now, 20 years later, Jacob is headed home and he knows this confrontation is waiting
0:46.4	for him. But something is different about Jacob this time. Instead of just relying on his usual
0:52.0	tactics of manipulation and strategy, we instead now see
0:56.1	climpses of humility. We see him acknowledging his own wrongs. We see him with self-awareness.
1:02.5	And most importantly, we start to see him leaning on God. For the original audience,
1:08.6	the Israelites remember, who themselves were navigating a complicated
1:12.3	relationship and learning how to trust God in very uncertain situations, this story would have felt
1:18.1	really personal. It would have offered a model for how to move forward in healing and reconciliation,
1:24.2	not through control, but through humility, grace, and faith. As we listen to Jacob's story,
1:30.7	it invites us to reflect on our own relationships. How might God be calling us to approach others
1:36.5	with that same kind of humility and courage? If you're just joining us, we are doing a slow walk
