I'm Mark Stephen.

Hopefully you've been enjoying our series charting my journey on the West Highland Way.

In this edition it's day five and I'm heading off not bright in early because it was actually pretty dark from Bridge of Orky.

There's a bit of colour on the sky now.

I set off when it was dark by head torch.

Venus was very bright and Mars was very red.

And the autumn equinox, I think, was on Tuesday.

And it was remarkably accurate because the temperatures

fairly dropped since then.

I came out yesterday in Creanlach and thought, ooh, it feels a bit airish.

Definite frost this morning.

I don't know what it is walking by a head torch, but whether it's just beads of moisture on conifers or whether it's them breathing, I really don't know.

But they almost seem to glow by torchlight.

And I've stopped here because I heard a rattling noise.

I'm down at Infer On now, done about three miles.
