0:00.0	Hey Bible readers, I'm Tara Lee Cobble and I'm your host for the Bible Recap.
0:07.0	Jeremiah opens today with God's rebuke of the leaders of Judah and in his
0:16.9	rebuke he seems to contradict himself. In verse two he says you have scattered
0:22.2	my flock and have driven them away then as he talks
0:25.3	about how he's going to respond to the evil actions of these leaders he says in
0:28.8	verse 3 I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all the countries where I have driven them.
0:34.4	So who did the scattering and driving away?
0:37.0	The leaders of Judah or God?
0:39.6	Yes.
0:40.9	The leaders were the active agent, but as we know, God is using their wicked actions within his good and righteous overarching plan.
0:48.0	I'm so glad I serve a God who redeems the wicked things done to his kids.
0:53.5	God promises to bring his sheep back to the land and says,
0:56.6	They shall fear no more, nor be dismayed.
0:59.6	Neither shall any be missing.
1:02.3	Fearlessness is a trait of God's sheep because he has proven himself to be
1:05.8	our good shepherd. God promises a day when he'll raise up a righteous king from among the
1:11.3	line of David and of course this is a prophecy of Christ.
1:15.2	And God says when that new king rains on earth, his people will have new things to praise him for that
1:20.4	will wildly surpass what they used to praise him for.
1:24.1	In the meantime, though, God is judging Judah, and he says the sins of Judah and it's
1:29.0	capital Jerusalem are worse than the sins of Israel in its capital Samaria.
1:33.0	Why is that?
