William Adolf Bougarot was born in the year 1825.

He died in the year 1905.

And he was a dominant French academic painter of the 19th century.

He championed classical realism against emerging avant-garde movements like impressionism.

His works, often mythological religious or idealized, peasant scenes were celebrated for their technical precision,

luminous skin tones, and emotive narratives.
