Summary

In the glow of the Christ Child, she models how to receive mystery, pain, and promise with unwavering faith. 1:03.7	Now, a brief introduction to our artist and artwork.
1:07.7	Arndt de Gelder was born in the year 1645.
1:10.3	He died in the year 1727, and he was a Dutch
1:13.9	Baroque painter, renowned for his devotion to biblical themes, and his distinctive continuation
1:19.4	of Rembrandt's late style. So he was, in fact, a student, a follower of Rembrandt, and in fact,
1:27.1	he was one of Rembrandt's last pupils,
1:29.5	and his work certainly reflects Rembrandt's influence through dramatic chiaroscuro and emotional depth.
1:35.7	However, it also diverges from that by incorporating a looser brushwork and a more theatrical use of color.
