0:18.1	We'll be popping in and out of this book over the next month.
0:20.8	Then we'll drop in and out of second Chronicles for the three months after that.
0:24.0	These two books used to be one book, but they were divided because of scroll length.
0:29.0	In our chronological timeline, we're currently at the time of David, which is roughly 1,000 years BC. timeline were
0:35.0	written at the time of David, which is roughly 1,000 years,
0:36.0	and these two books were written at roughly 500 BC
0:38.0	to chronicle Israel's history,
0:39.0	like the Bible Recap, but before podcast, and much more condensed,
0:42.0	and on a scroll. So every time we
0:45.0	drop into this book we'll be getting a little bonus recap about something we just
0:48.4	read. The purpose of Chronicles is to remind Israel where they came from, which should also serve to give
0:53.7	them hope for the future. In a few days, I'll tell you why it was so important for
0:58.0	them to have this book and these genealogy specifically. The book starts us
1:02.3	way back at the beginning. In fact, the first word of
1:04.8	First Chronicles 1-1 is Adam. This is going to be such a good refresher for us and I
1:10.0	believe it will really help us to commit more of this to memory as well as stir up a few things
1:14.1	in our hearts.
