Hey Bible readers, I'm Tara Lee Cobble and I'm your host for the Bible Recap.

0:07.0

Yesterday we read all about David's life as a refugee and a fugitive and

0:16.9

and today we read several Psalms he wrote either during or in response to that time

0:21.2

in his life, most likely.

0:23.0

The first chapter we read, Psalm 7, is a lament.

0:26.2

David is a refugee and he declares that God is his refuge.

0:48.9

Near the end, he makes some general references to the terms of God's covenant with Israel in regard to

0:53.5

1:05.8

God. David calls God his light, his salvation, and his stronghold, and it's possible that

1:11.2

he may have even written this while he was in the

1:13.5

stronghold in the wilderness. Despite having a safe place to live, what he really

1:18.0

wants is the nearness of God. In verse five when he says,

1:21.8

he will conceal me under the cover of his tent.

1:25.0

The word tent here is the same word used for the tent of meeting,

1:28.0

where God's special presence dwelt.

1:31.0

Instead of dwelling in the stronghold, he wants to dwell in God's tent.
