0:13.4	After yesterday's demonstration where God validated Aaron's position as high priest, God
0:17.8	addresses Aaron directly today.
0:20.3	This is rare.
0:21.4	God usually addresses Moses and has him pass things along to Aaron, but there are a few times
0:25.7	where God speaks directly to Aaron and this is one of them.
0:29.4	He sets out some new rules and reiterates existing rules about how the priests and the
0:33.6	Levites are supposed to care for the Tabernacle.
0:36.1	The priests, Aaron and his two sons, are to guard the Tabernacle on the inside near the
0:40.9	holy vessels and the Levites are to guard the Tabernacle on the outside to keep everyone
0:45.2	out.
0:46.2	And God makes it clear if a Levite passes into the part reserved for priests, they'll
0:50.8	both die.
0:52.2	God tells them all this in an effort to spare them the wrath he has to pour out when
0:55.9	they rebel against him.
0:58.3	It also impacts something he's hinted at before.
1:01.3	The Levites will have no inheritance among the people of Israel.
1:05.0	No land, no cattle, and nothing to bank their futures on apart from the promise of God
1:09.6	that he would provide for them through his people.
1:12.4	The other 12 tribes brought a tithe which literally means one-tenth of their income to
1:17.2	the Levites.
1:18.5	Of that tithe, the Levites gave 10% back to God who said it should be given to the priest.
