Is Dion Dawkins on notice?

What's up, Bill's Mafia? It's Joe Marino. That's Jerry Estroski. And on today's

episode, we're talking Dion Dawkins. And it's a very, very interesting scenario that's

going to take me just a minute to kind of set the table. but I cannot wait to pick Jerry's brain on everything

that is potentially going on with Mr. Dion Dawkins. And I think this conversation has to start

here with the bill's cap position. They've got about $13 million in cap space, which feels

pretty good. Now, it's a little bit of a

misleading number because $13 million doesn't account for the draft class, which will count

around $4 million. It only accounts for the top 51 cap hits. Once the bills get to the season,

it'll count for the top 53 cap hits. It doesn't count for a practice squad, which is around four million bucks.

You need money in season for injury replacements or if you want to, you know, upgrade at the

trade deadline, those types of things. So they have 13 million, but it's a misleading

$13 million. And we've talked extensively about the different cap clearing opportunities that do exist for Brandon Bean.

And he's done a lot of them, the Dawson Knox extension, the Josh Allen restructure,

the Ed Oliver restructure, the Spencer Brown restructure.

He's done all the things that were obvious, releasing Taylor Rap, releasing Curtis Samuel.

But there's one move that he hasn't done.

And it's restructuring Dionne Dawkins, who would free up $11.4 million like that that you could

use to build your football team. Now, Brandon Bean usually does maintain a couple of levers that he can pull

closer to the start of the season. All right. And so maybe it's the simple explanation of that.
