His latest film, Prince Avalanche, stars Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch as an unlikely road crew in charge of repainting lines down a highway after a horrible

wildfire sweeps through the landscape. Green talks about the Icelandic film that inspired Prince

Avalanche, and actor Emile Hirsch recalls an especially funny encounter he had with co-star, the late actor Lance LaGault.

So, David, you made the most unusual movie of the 21st century, a movie which there's no

swearing and smoking.

How did you manage that?

Is there no swearing and smoking? No. You know, what's weird is this movie's rated R and there's no swearing and smoking. How did you manage that? Is there no swearing of smoking?

Well, there's some sexual content, though.

um it was just you know it was very very intimate scene with me and paul and paul was a really good

sport about it and it was good we improvised a little bit you don't get to do a whole lot of love

scenes so it's really touching the sea, literally touching
