Y'all, I'm so pumped to preach the word at these two evening gatherings.

The very words that we were just singing were inspired by the story that we're going to read tonight.

I won't bow to idols. I'll stand strong and worship you. And if it puts me in the fire, I'll rejoice because you're there too.

That's Daniel 3, y'all. And this is going to be heavy. There's going to be a lot to this

sermon that I believe is going to immediately apply to your life. For some of you, this will be a new

vision to what life is all about in general. And I can't wait to see what God does, but it's

felt that way every week so far of this series. So if you haven't been with us, we've been

tracking through the book of Daniel. Daniel is a book in the Old Testament of your Bible that

tells the story of the people of God taken into exile in Babylon. But when they're exiled, their homes are destroyed, they're

taken away to a new land, they're given new names, they're basically brainwashed into a new

culture. But there's these four guys that are so transformed by the word of God from the inside

out that they don't conform to the world that's around them. And what we're saying right now is what does it look like to look into how they got formed

to that point?

We're talking about Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

Because I believe that what God wants from Auburn Community Church in our day is to be

formed so deeply into the image of who Jesus is that no matter how much the culture around

us compromises and no matter how much the church culture around us compromises, we'll stand strong

and worship him. This is deep truth that we're talking about here, but the whole idea of this

series came from paying attention to, wait a second, Daniel Shadrach, Michak, and

Abedegar from the tribe of Judah, the timeline of Israel's history shows that when their

parents were around, there was a king named Josiah who led a revival. He led a return to the

Word of God where what was passed down to Daniel and his friends
