I'm delighted to say this week we're joined by Danny Roderick from Harvard University,

one of the world's leading economists.

I'm going to embarrass him now.

By introducing him to people who may not know about his work with reference to an article

that was written last summer around the time of the Republican Convention when Donald

Trump gave his Midnight in America speech and I should say we're talking on the morning

after he addressed Congress in a somewhat more optimistic tone.

But a few people noted then and with his inaugural they disandered like a villain from a Batman

movie, the Joker or something.

And this article then said who is Batman who will come and save Gotham City?

His name is Danny Roderick.

So we're thrilled to have him here and then the article goes on speculate about if Danny

is Batman who is Robin.

We've got Helen Thompson and Finn Bylancy with us looking very skeptically at me.

So Danny, if we can start this discussion, if you could tell people a bit about something

that you wrote ten years ago I think about globalization and have been thinking about for a long

time which is what you call the trilemma that we can't have it all.

Do you want to just tell people how you frame that trilemma and then we'll try and fit

Trump into it?
