On today's episode, my guest is Dana Trixie Flynn. Dana is the co-founder of Laughing Lotus, and Laughing Lotus has locations in New York, San

Francisco, and Brooklyn, and it is soon to be opening in the 7th District of New Orleans thanks to Dana.

So that's the project we're going to talk about today and I learned so much in this interview with Dana. I've known her for years but I never really looked up her background until this interview and it's a pretty fascinating path and this interview kind of brought all of the pieces together for me of who she is.

So she went to Cornell and then became a stockbroker in the 80s and she was very successful as a stockbroker and that success spurred her to open her own restaurant in Hell's Kitchen.

She was always loved to dance, she was the self-identified disco queen, and Trixies just became like the cool spot for everyone to go.

It was wildly successful. She was scouted by MTV and became an MTV reporter for a little while.

But a few years into Trixies and became an MTV reporter for a little while.

But a few years into Trixies,

she just was feeling kind of lost,

like so many of us feel in our 20s.

You know, that bridge from adolescence to adulthood

could be really, really challenging.

So she was feeling lost, she was struggling with addiction,

and she eventually found yoga.

And the rest, as they say, is history.
