Hey guys, this is Jason from Sports Spectrum. I hope you're doing well. Happy New Year. And I just want to take a minute here. This won't be long today as we release this podcast. But this has been a tough week for the sports world, obviously, with everything that's happened with Damar Hamlin from the Buffalo Bills. And we continue to pray for his health and his healing.

That was a hard thing to see on Monday night, certainly for his teammates, for the Bengals,

for the Bills, and you know, as a believer in Jesus and as a follower of Christ and certainly working and serving in this ministry with sports spectrum where we intersect sports and

faith. Anytime you see something like that happen, you know, you immediately go to the people

that are going through it and certainly demar and you start to pray. And, you know, I believe in the

power of prayer. I've been privileged and honored in getting to know a lot of players in the NFL

and, you know, that whole meet me at the 50 that they do at the end of every NFL game is a time

of prayer. Both teams gathering together players from each team and they just spend time in prayer

thanking God for the blessing of being able to play and for health.

And then there's this moment where Demar is, you know, lying in the middle of the field with an

ambulance there and being, you know, administered CPR and being resuscitated and having gone

in cardiac arrest and see all the players around them so emotional

and this is a different kind of prayer this is a plea to god for you know intercession and for

god to come and heal this young man and what's really cool as we pray again for demar and believe

hopefully that he'll be okay is you see the power of

prayer this week you see every NFL team you see even the NFL putting a photo a cover photo

if you will or profile photo on Twitter that says pray for demar. Not thoughts and prayers. Pray.

This week has been one of a lot of prayer. A lot of people who maybe don't know how to pray or

haven't prayed are even saying pray for demar. And then there's a moment that happened on ESPN,

my former employer on Tuesday afternoon on

NFL Live, which is a show a lot of people watch. And it's been a lot of fun to watch that show grow

and evolve with Laura Rutledge and certainly with Marcus Spears and Ryan Clark and Dan Orlovsky.
