Hello everybody and welcome to birds with friends Bow Wolf, Zach Berman, Marissa Dunn here on a Wednesday evening.

We are going to get into, you know, the Jalen Hertz situation, what's going on with the Eagles. We will do that after the break.

But we're going to start with the football news and that is that is Demar Hamlin and what is going on with him after suffering cardiac arrest on the field during Monday night football.

I hope it's not intrusive but I think we need to talk to Marissa here to start the show because you have a more important perspective than either of us do. First of all, how are you?

It's been a long I mean I feel like for anybody who watched what happened like it's you can't feel anything but like just heartbreaking, you know.

And yesterday was like tough like I didn't sleep the night before I give like reaching over and like touching Michael and like, you know, just like, yeah, he's like rolling over, you know, like not even like.

And you know like it's just it's a very emotional thing and I mean, I will try and keep my composure but it's hard to talk about because you can.

How do you how do you put a game in perspective when you know like it's silly the stuff we like talk about sometimes when like something like this can happen and you know like I love football.

I love talking the X's and O's and all of that but at the end of the day like none of it matters, you know, play playoffs.

We talk about seating, whatever like the thing that matters in the NFL right now is to Marhamlin is Marhamlin only and and all those other guys on that the bills team because they had to watch and witness such a horrific event and it's just a very sad thing and can't stop thinking about him like everybody else, I feel like.

Zach what's going on with you.

Well, I mean, I I feel from form for Marissa here obviously I should say I feel mostly for you know, the Marhamlin and those who who know him well as family as teammates.

But what's going on with me is you hate to say you hate to say like the show goes on because that game was was postponed or suspended I should say maybe cancel.

And the Eagles pause for a day but the NFL is back today they have gain there's like week 18 that every team is preparing for the bills included the Bengals included and it seems it seems odd to think that like Marissa said football seems trivial relative to the Marhamlin but there's there's going to be 16 football games this weekend right.

And it's it's the like that is almost to a certain extent the the the push pull here I imagine for for every player I mean I mean what we do is in consequential relative to what they do.

But there's there's there's there's there's kind of like this this this caveat mentor component the football where you you you you accept I don't know if accepts the right word but like you acknowledge going into it the violent nature of it although we've never seen it to that extent but the reality is 24 hours before that game we were on this podcast talking about.
