Thank you also for making Locked on Fantasy Basketball your first listen every day. We are free. We are available on all platforms. All right, Locked on Fantasy Basketball. The link, of course, is in the description. It is link tree slash AlloFB Bowl. There is a QR code on your screen that you can click to join. We've got a couple of leagues left at the moment. Maybe opening more just depends. It just depends. There will be best ball for sure. But the other regular head-to-head categories and points, once these ones fill up, then we will open up other ones. If that is the case. But if they don't fill up, then I won't. So simple as that. Locked on Fantasy Basketball Bowl at Linktree slash AllofB Bowl, join up, slow drafts. Again, auctions like I talked about on the Rockets preview, they'll probably be more standalone leagues. We'll run some of those as well, and they'll be coming. But if you want in, there are some spots, probably 60 spots available across points in categories at the moment, plus a draft and stash roto format that is there. We're here, though, to talk about the Dallas Mavericks earlier today. If you haven't seen, I did the Houston Rockets preview out of order because we had big news with the Fred Van Bleet torn ACL so go check out the rocket show that I did earlier |
| 2:01.1 | today. We had to talk about this Dallas Mavericks team where they are an interesting team, |
| 2:06.6 | one that is weirdly in my mind priced. If I say priced, like a lot of the fantasy value in this |
| 2:14.1 | team just seems off to me. We'll go through that and talk about overvalued and undervalued and things to worry about. But it just seems like it's one of those ones where for certain teams you know, there's a lot of guys I can target here. Whereas for this squad, I'm not really sure that's the case. So let's dig into it. What's my projected starting five for this team? Well, this one's relatively easy because we heard the Mavericks come out. I think it was via Mark Stein saying that they were going to open training camp with this starting five. Now, the question I have, and the starting five is on the screen, it's Angela Russell, Clay Thompson, Cooper Flagg, Anthony Davis and Daniel Gafford. I think that's relatively obvious. The only thing that I would say with that is, is that because Derek lively after off-season foot-slash- ankle surgery is not ready, or they are actually going to be using Gaffett as the starter. I think it's more towards the scenario of lively not being 100% ready when camp opens, which is sort of the expectation we had anyway. But that's the only switch to me. It'd be lively for Gaffet. And it makes sense that they're starting training camp with this starting group. I didn't think there'd be any other way that they would go. There were some that thought maybe they'd go with Flag at the two and Washington at the three. But that's playing just way too many guys out of position. And this team is just, I think, poorly constructed. So you can see that starting line up with DeAngelo Russell, starting point guard, who'd be starting in that position waiting for Kyrie Irving to return. You got Flag playing out of position at the three. You've got Anthony Davis playing out of position at the four. And I know he cries about it all the time that he's a four, another five that a five. That's great, mate. How about you shoot? I bet you learn to shoot. That'd be good. Right? Then you'd be fine in that position. And then the team is just stacked with too many power forwards and centres. I don't really know why they're doing it. And Clay, of course, is washed. But he's really, we talk about, there's an eerie similarity between the way this |
| 3:58.2 | team is constructed and the rockets, which we did earlier. A lot of bigs, a lot of power forwards, |
| 4:03.6 | very little shooting. And Clay is your only shooter. And he can still shoot. He just can't do |
| 4:08.0 | anything else. And Clay, honestly, is best served to be defending threes and probably fours, |
