Welcome back to Part 2 of Private Parts with me, Liv Bentley, and my glorious guest, Daisy.

0:13.8

But again, what would your advice be to anyone who's currently in a situation where you feel slightly like you're being stalked?

0:19.6

What would you suggest? Because the other thing I was thinking as well is that actually sometimes one doesn't quite realize what a shit situation or in,

0:25.6

until you tell a friend about it, and then they look on their faces, and then you go, okay, fine, actually, maybe this isn't quite right.

0:30.6

Yeah.

0:31.6

Because I think, I keep saying men, and it's more because I'm a woman and I think it's whatever but it's both parties can

0:38.0

obviously have these issues but I think guys can be incredibly controlling over things and you don't

0:42.8

quite realize the severity of it until you're either out of it or until you talk about it was to someone

0:47.3

else I think especially at the start of a relationship as well so you mentioned love bombing and

0:53.8

this is a huge thing and we brush over it so quickly. Can you

0:57.0

explain just in the beginning what love bombing it actually means? Yeah. So it's it is being excessive

1:03.6

with the love and attention that you are are giving someone and so in this sense, and again, this was mentioned by, I think, every single woman that I spoke to in this film, we spoke to men as well, but specifically women, because this seems to be something that men tend to do to women.

1:25.6

Every one of them said that they were showered with gifts, with time,

1:30.1

with attention, but the gifts that they were showered with, it was almost like they, these guys

1:37.0

were replacing the things that they already had. So, for example, a phone, their new boyfriend would say, let me get you a new phone, I'm going to upgrade your phone for you. And to these girls, it felt like a really sweet thing for them to do. But actually, replacing these items in your life is a way for them to weaponise those things three, six months a year down the line,

2:03.7

because then all of those things that you now have in your possession, they can take back.

2:08.8

So it's so love bombing is often the first step of abuse in a relationship.

2:15.5

It's a really, really early sign and it's a big red

2:19.0

flag. But where are young men learning this behaviour from? Because is it like you see family members

2:23.7

being like that? Or where are you getting, where is one seeing this? I think it's a bit of both.

2:27.9

I think there are statistics that say that if you have been around abuse as a child, if you have seen that or have grown up

2:37.7

in that sort of environment, you are more susceptible to not only falling into a relationship
