I think what drove Noah, the most powerful wind in his sails, if you will, for 120 years

of back-breaking labor and building this arc

was not its good exercise and not. It's a great way to bond with my kids. I think the big

motivation was, if I don't, I die. If I don't, I drown. Noah believed God.

He believed the future promises of God.

Faith does not act by sight.

Faith is not by sight, but faith rather it hears.

It is the hearing of the word that builds faith.

And so it's not seeing things presently, visible, tangible, but hearing the word of God

with the ears of faith, and always, faith always is looking forward. It looks back to the finished

work of Christ. It has as the strength and resolve to presently follow Christ, but it's always

looking forward to the future promises of Christ.

And so Noah was looking forward to his future salvation

and the future promised judgment of what would happen if he disobeyed.

And I believe that this ultimately is what was driving Noah.

So how do you stand alone in the midst of an evil age?

Well, you believe that there really is a God.

And he really will, as he promised, return again to judge the living and the dead.
