The White House plans to introduce a new recisions package that will claw back federal education funding. The Daily Signal's White House correspondent Elizabeth Mitchell broke this news on Tuesday afternoon.

After talking with sources that are familiar with the situation, the Trump administration has repeatedly discussed needed reforms

to education and to the education department and has discussed eliminating the department altogether.

Trump signed an executive order back in March that authorized secretary of the Department

of Education, Linda McMahon, to do everything in her power to dismantle the department. The department

has already laid off 1,300 career employees. Right now, it's not clear what this rescission package

will cut from the previously approved education funding.
