Good morning in the news this morning a member of Drexel University's men's basketball team died on Wednesday school official stating.

According to the university Terrence Butler a rising junior in the college of engineering and a member of the men's basketball team passed away in his on campus apartment.

On behalf of the entire Drexel community we extend our deepest sympathy to Terrence's family friends and teammates.

In addition to being a student athlete Terrence was involved in numerous activities and organizations at Drexel and was a friend to many throughout the university community.

A portion of the message from the university said there is no word yet on how Butler died.

He was from Upper Marble Marble Maryland and is survived by his parents and two sisters both of whom also played college basketball.

The six foot seven four was also named to the Coastal Athletic Association commissioners academic honor roll last season off the court people on campus say Butler was the kind of student that everyone knew and everyone liked school officials say various mental health and counseling resources are available to students during this time.

But as of right now no word on what killed him terrible. Wildwood mayor Pete Byron was sentenced to three years of probation in order to pay a $20,000 fine after he admitted earlier this year to eating and assisting in the preparation of false tax returns.

The 67 year old learned his fate before a federal judge and camped in on Wednesday from January 2017 through December 2018 Byron served as commissioner for Wildwood and was in charge of the revenue and finance departments.

In 2017 authorities say Byron worked for a law firm as a salesman while serving as commissioner for Wildwood according to the letter sent by the firm to Byron.

The Wildwood official was to receive an annual salary from the company for his work authorities say he received over $40,000 in payments.

But he never reported his earnings to the IRS for the calendar years 2017 and 2018 you're supposed to do that back in March he pleaded guilty to two counts of willfully

eating and assisting in the preparation and presentation of fraudulent tax returns after his sentencing on Wednesday Byron said that he had no plans to resign as mayor a position he has served since 2020.

But his legal troubles are not over on Wednesday he and two others were indicted on charges of official misconduct theft by unlawful taking tampering with public records and falsifying or tampering with records.

What are you going to get me on everything give me a break authorities alleged the trio fraudulently participated in the state health benefits program when they were not eligible as a result Wildwood and the program paid over $608,000 in premiums and claims on behalf of Byron from July 2011 through October 2021 the attorney general's office said.
