Hi, Jay is Friday the twenty-first day of July morning Kathy.

Good morning and the news this morning authorities in Bucks County say a father shot

and killed his eight-year-old son and then turned the gun on himself.

They are now trying to piece together what led up to what is being investigated as a

murder suicide on Thursday night.

The lower make-field township police chief Kenneth Calluzzi said the situation began

with a wellness check when police arrived at the residence.

They saw a child lying on the floor inside the home of the 500 block of Heritage Oak

Drive.

Officers kicked the door in and found both the 47-year-old father and his son suffering

from gunshot wounds to their heads.

No one else was home at the time of the shooting the mother of the family was notified

of the situation.

Police say she was obviously distraught and she recently got a restraining order against

him.

No identities have been released at this time.
