Hi, today is Friday, the 19th day of May. We'll start with this.

Police investigating after food delivery driver was shot in North Philadelphia

Thursday afternoon, the 1700 block of North Grant Street.

Police say, man, working as a delivery driver was shot in the chest while inside his vehicle.

He was taken to Temple University Hospital by police and is currently listed in critical condition.

Police bleed, the victim was working for Grubhub and was dropping off food in the area. Grubhub

could not confirm if it was indeed one of their drivers, but did release a statement saying,

our thoughts are with the driver and his loved ones after today's shocking incident.

We've offered our assistants to Philadelphia local law enforcement and are currently working

to identify whether this was one of our delivery partners. Authorities believe robbery may have

been the motive and no arrests have been made. The idea of year-round schooling in Philadelphia is

back in the spotlight. The controversial proposal was one of the campaign ideas of Democratic

mayoral nominee, Sherelle Parker. And now that Parker has won the Democratic primary,

others are taking a hard look at the possibility of ditching summer in favor of full-time schooling.

Superintendent of Philadelphia Schools, Tony Watlington, will present a pilot program

for year-round schools in his five year strategic plan. More information will be revealed

at a meeting on Thursday, May 25th. David Hornack, the Executive Director of the National

Association for Year-round Education, said about 4% of schools across the United States already
