Let's dive into everything baseball related from Wednesday, September 10th. We'll start it off as always with the transactions, injuries, news and notes from around the league, kicking things off with the bad news.

A starting pitcher Luis Garcia of the Astros was placed on the 15-day IL with elbow discomfort.

Garcia, having just returned from a two-year hiatus from Tommy John surgery this year

means that the Astros likely won't rush him back from this injury, which could put

his season in jeopardy.

I ultimately think that if the Astros do make the playoffs and make it deep enough to

need Garcia, I think he will be fine to pitch in the playoffs,

but ultimately, I don't know that much about Garcia's injury, nor am I a doctor.

But it does seem like Garcia probably will be out for the rest of the season,

the last three weeks, and then should be good for the postseason.

In a corresponding move, relief pitcher, Nick Hernandez was recalled from the miners.

In terms of transactions, outfielder Tommy Edmund was activated from the 10-day IL

after missing time with a sprained ankle.

Edmund is likely to see most of his time in center field.

That's where he played in his return.

However, it was against a left-handed pitcher.

So how the platoons shakeout in Hollywood will ultimately determine where Edmund plays.
