We jump into the news before jumping into what happened in yesterday's games, starting with Hunter Harvey. The Royals reliever headed to the IL with a strain to his right adductor. This is a grade two strain. So Hunter Harvey is going to be missing significant time. It seems like likely there's a

chance that's the rest of the season. The royals are, quote unquote, hopeful that he will be back

before the end of the year. But the great two strain will keep him out for at least a while.

Lewinder Avila has been recalled by Kansas City, taking the roster spot of Harvey heading to the IL.

Tony Gonsolin undergoes internal brace surgery, so he's out for the rest of the year, which I think was kind of assumed at this point, but it is now official.

The estimated timetable is 10 months for this recovery.

Gonsland has been out since mid-June and will be out into next season.

Taylor Walls for the raise, hence the aisle with a groin strain. He'd been splitting

time at shortstop with Ha-Song Kim. So this will give Kim full reign of the raised shortstop position.

Walls has not been super effective offensively. He's more of a defensive guy, but he's going to miss some time now heading to the 10-day IL with that groin strain.

And Kim will be getting most of the starts there.

Walls has been the primary starter because Hassan Kim has not been on the field much with his injuries.

So Walls has been a pretty steady presence of the shortstop position for the raise this year.

But again, he is heading to the IO.
