Let's start it off as always with the transactions, injuries, news, and notes from around

the league kicking things off with the bad news. As starting pitcher, Lance McCuller's

Jr. was placed on the 15-day IL with a foot sprain. Man, this guy is always injured, cannot

catch a break, but hopefully it's short because it's not arm-related,

which is something that's been an issue for McCullers throughout his career.

So foot-related injury, hopefully short stint on the IL for Lance McCuller's Jr.

In a corresponding move, Jason Alexander was recalled from the minors,

and he will start today in Sacramento against the A's.

Our other IEL placement involves starting pitcher K. Povich, who was placed on the 15-day IL with hip inflammation.

Very unfortunate for Povich, but hopefully just a minimum stint on the IL for the Southpaw.

Colin Selby was recalled for the minors in a corresponding move, but the rotational replacement

for Povich remains unclear in Baltimore.

In terms of transaction, starting pitcher Logan Gilbert, who was out with a flexor strain,

was activated from the 15-day IL to start versus the Red Sox.

He tossed five innings, allowing three hits and two-run runs while walking one and striking

out 10,

inducing 21 whiffs to earn the Gallows pull alongside 36% CSW and 84 pitches.

So Logan Gilbert did not miss a beat, came back, and was dominant against the Red Sox without Raphael Devers.
