We'll start it off as always with the transactions, injuries, news and notes from around

the league, kicking things off with the bad news as starting pitcher Cody Ponce was

placed on the 15-day aisle with a sprained right ACL. Blue Jays, the Blue Jays manager said that

even if it's a mild strain,

Ponce is set to miss significant time.

And the likelihood of a return this season is slight.

However, the Blue Jays are having other doctors look at his MRI before making that determination.

This is very unfortunate news for Ponce in his return to the majors after he signed a three-year,

$30 million contract over the offseason with the Blue Jays.

And he looked very dominant in the early going of his start before he had that ACL sprain.

It's also a huge blow to the Jay's pitching staff who are already without Jose Burrios,

Shane Bieber,

and Treya Savage.

Lazaro Estrada was recalled from the minors in a corresponding move to support the pitching

staff.
