We're just two days away from the big game out at Nippert Stadium.

This is the second time that the Cyclones will face off against Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby.

Sorsby's first game against Iowa State was unique to say the least.

He rushed for 141 yards but only passed for 66 yards.

Head coach Scott Satterfield talks about how much that carries

over to this year. We did not throw the ball great last year. And I thought to last year's Iowa

state team where they gave up some running yards. And I feel like we try to take advantage of that.

They did a really good job in the past game. I think this year, they're a little bit more balanced than their defense approach. It's not just one side. I thought last year maybe they gave up the run and they were really good in the past defense. This year, I think it's a little bit of both. I still think they're a very solid defense. We're going to need to be able to hit some throws. We're going to have to be able to do that. There's no question.

You know, that really hindered us last year, not being able to hit some of those throws in the game. And, you know, I think you've got to be able to do both, obviously. But, you know, again, we're a new team. This is a different bunch. They're a different bunch. like their secondary is like they're all new compared to last year. Our wide receivers are all new. You know, it's like, so it's really two totally

different teams when you think about it in that regard. It's well documented that Cincinnati

runs the exact same defense as Iowa State, the 335 stack thanks to Tyson Vite, former

cyclone linebackers coach and now Bearcats defensive

coordinator. That means that since he quarterback, Brendan Sorsby, has seen it a lot.

We're definitely very, very similar to the point of where you can get good reads from our defense.
