as he is named with a prestigious honor, the CSC Academic All-American of the Year.

Lipsy becomes the fourth Iowa state athlete ever to win this, joining Charlie Kohler in 2021,

Christina Hillman of Women's Track in 2016 and Lisa Cole of track in 2009. Lipsy, we all know the type

of player he is and clearly a great student to be able to win this award, making his family proud, making his community proud.

Lipsy, of course, was an academic All-American.

That was announced right before the Big 12 tournament.

We asked him about that in Kansas City.

Here's what he had to say about the honor at the time.

Obviously, a scholar athlete is something that means a lot as well.

Something that my mom and dad, obviously, that probably means more to them than some of the other people.

They probably see that and kind of just push that to the side.

But that's something that means a lot to our family, just education and knowing that what you do in the classroom can relate to on the court as well.
