It's always a good time at Whiskey River,

even if it's not always a good time on the basketball court.

And last night was not a good time for the cyclones

at the Mikhail Center. The cyclones suffer their second straight loss in third in their last four tries as they fall to 11 and 7 in Big 12 play with a 16 point loss to Arizona.

And unlike other road losses this season, effort, energy, determination, grit was not the issue for Iowa State. I thought they played about as hard as they have all year.

They just couldn't buy a shot. It was brutal. They shot under 30% from the field, under 25% from three.

And that's just not the team we've seen this year. It's not even close.

Iowa State entering just a few weeks ago

was the number two three-point shooting team in the country. Yes, a lot of that was because of

Mila-Mu-Chilevich, but still, this is a team sport in Iowa State's team three-point percentage

was among the best in the country. And right now they look like a shell of themselves.
