I am Brian.

It's great to be here with you today.

Today, here now, as we gather around the global campfire,

once again another step forward on the grand voyage across the year

through the Bible.

And once again I find myself grateful

for this place that we are and we can do this and allow it to come

washing into our lives in whatever way that it needs to whatever way that we'll open

ourselves to whatever way that it wants to.

It's the Bible.

We're just letting it speak for itself. And so we have wound our way all the way into the book of Isaiah.

We're nearing the halfway point of Isaiah, probably tomorrow we'll cross through the halfway

points.

So we had a ways to go, but we are quite a ways in.

Today, Isaiah, chapter 28, verse 14 through 30

Therefore, hear the word of the Lord. You scoffers who rule this people in Jerusalem.

For you said, we have made a covenant with death, and we have an agreement with Shio.

When the overwhelming catastrophe passes through, it will not touch us because we have made falsehood,

our refuge, and have hidden behind treachery.
