I can't believe it.

It's the 31st day of October, so this concludes our 10th month of a 12 month journey.

And what a journey it has been.

And on our journey through the Scriptures, we have made several transitions over the last couple of days.

We've moved through an into new territory, which is where we find ourselves now.

In the Old Testament, we're in the Book of Lamentations.

In the New Testament, we have just begun the Book of Hebrews, where we will camp out for a little bit.

And so let's dive in.

We're reading from the English Standard Version this week.

Today, Lamentations, chapters 4 and 5.

How the gold has grown dim.

How the pure gold has changed.

The holy stones lie scattered at the head of every street.

The precious sons of Zion worth their weight in fine gold.

How they are regarded as earthen pots.

The work of a potter's hands.

Even jackals offer the breast.

They nurse their young.

But the daughter of my people has become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.

The tongue of the nursing infant sticks to the roof of its mouth for thirst.
