Have you guys ever thought about the times that we live in?

I think about that sometimes when I'm standing here like right now.

I can't believe.

I can't believe that we can be knit together like this.

Even though for most of us we may never, never see each other.

That doesn't mean we're not aware of our brothers and sisters all over this earth.

And we have gathered here and we are here together taking this next step forward.

What an amazing thing that we get to do every day.

And so let's do that.

Let's take the next step forward together.

That next step leads us back into the book of Ezra.

And today chapters 7 verse 1 through 8 verse 20.

Many years later, when Arctic Xerxes was emperor of Persia, it was a man named Ezra.

He traced his ancestors back to Aaron, the high priest, as follows.

Ezra was the son of Saraya, son of Azaraya, son of Hilkia, son of Shalum, son of Zedok, son of Haitub, son of Amaraya, son of Azaraya, son of Mareot, son of Zerahaya, son of Uzzi, son of Bukhi, son of Abashua, son of Phineas, son of Eleazar, son of Aaron.

Ezra was a scholar with a thorough knowledge of the law which the Lord, the God of Israel, had given to Moses.

Because Ezra had the blessing of the Lord his God, the emperor gave him everything he asked for.
