Summary

Go to http://shipstation.com and use code CASKET to get a free 60-day trial. Welcome to the Corporate Casket, a semiweekly series where bad businesses go to die. We will discuss any and everything from bad charities, terrible CEOs, and businesses that have a lot to hide. D.A.R.E was started around the same time that the “War on Drugs” started to sweep across the United States. Created and run by police officers across the country, D.A.R.E’s goal was to educate children about the dangers of drugs and alcohol, particularly the legal danger. There was everything! The catchy jingle, the mascot, and even a children’s choir. But, it was also missing a few things, like any research-based methods and practices. Turns out, that’s an important ingredient and as the years have gone by studies have found that despite the cute mascot, D.A.R.E failed in its mission to protect future generations from drug addiction.
