2019 edition of Tesla Daily on official Tesla Podcast.

My name is Rob Maurer, quite a few Tesla stories to discuss today, as well as some news from

Portia and China.

Tesla stock on the day today had its sixth positive day in a row, up 3.66% to $256.96, that compared to the NASDAQ down 0.1%.

I don't have any further speculation than what I had last week on why the stock is increasing.

I think it's just a continuation of a correction from the delivery report, as well as a lot of other factors,

some of which we'll talk about today, but one of the primary ones being I think we continue to see progress

towards Gigafactory 3. October 14th is the day that we heard speculated as sort of the start of production.

We don't have any official news on that yet, but we do have a little bit more information

to add on to the rumor mill.

They had an interview with Fang Shaiming, who was a consultant that has focused on the Chinese auto market for almost a decade, and he, quote,

told the Global Times on Monday that the first batch of vehicle batteries would be fully assembled at the Shanghai factory

on October 30th based on what he had heard from some Tesla employees.

End quote. Also adding that the first phase of Gigafactory Shanghai will be for Assembly for parts shipped from the U.S.

So starting with Assembly, then moving later into full... Assembly for parts shipped from the US.

So starting with Assembly, then moving later into full production.

Not that that's confirmed, but I think it does make sense.

His prediction, which I would like to emphasize,

his prediction, is that true mass production would start only after the Spring Festival

which happens in January 2020.
