Summary

China enacted its Cybersecurity Law just over two years ago, and the regulatory ecosystem that has emerged as regulations have developed around it is appreciably easier to navigate than it once was. But risks for companies both foreign and domestic remain as those rules are tweaked and as various government agencies clamor to play a role in enforcing them. MLex has compiled a special report highlighting the key issues in Chinese cybersecurity. MLex Deputy Managing Editor for Asia Padraic Convery sat down with Correspondent Xu Yuan, whose reporting on Chinese cybersecurity issues forms the basis of this report, to get her take on what businesses can expect from China’s increasingly developed cyber-regulatory environment, both now and in the future. 1:05.0	Xu Wan, broadly speaking, what are the key differences between the cybersecurity regime in China
1:10.4	and cybersecurity arrangements in other parts of the world?
1:13.9	To borrow a phrase, is there such a thing as cybersecurity with Chinese characteristics?
1:20.0	I think yes, maybe, but generally most of the key issues covered by the cybersecurity regime in China
1:30.3	are quite similar to other jurisdictions that generate concerns such as data protection
1:38.3	and the critical information infrastructure.
1:43.3	If there is anything that could be special for China,

1:53.0	focus more or pay more attention than their counterparts in other countries
