Today is Friday, May 12th, 2020.

This week we are talking about the corporal and spiritual works of mercy, but before we get there,

let's pray the memorare, which we are learning this month in the Be a Saint kiss club.

In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, amen.

Remember, a most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known, that anyone who fled to thy protection implored thy help or sought thy intercession was left onated. Inspired by this confidence,

I fly unto thee, O virgins of virgins, my mother. To thee I come before the I stand, sinful and

sorrowful. O mother of the word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me, amen.

So we have talked about the corporal works of mercy where we care for a person's body. And today

we're going to talk specifically about the seven spiritual works of mercy where we care for a person's soul.

Now, before we get into these, I just want to remind you that our primary vocation,

that means our primary work, is love. We need to do all of these things with love, with the love of Jesus Christ,

which sees individuals, cares for their specific experiences and needs, and responds out of love.

So some of these we could definitely do without love. We could definitely do

them harshly, but we need to be doing these things with love. So here are the seven spiritual

works of mercy. Now just reflect with me as I read through these on ways that we could do these,

ways that maybe we're already being called to do them and just simple things that we could do these, ways that maybe we're already being called to do them,

and just simple things that we can do to help lead others spiritually to Jesus Christ.

So the first spiritual work of mercy is to counsel the doubtful.

Now, we all experience doubt, and to counsel the doubtful, we of course, number one,

must be informed of our own faith so that we know what is true, and we must also respond in
