In just a few days, the world's attention will again be focused on London and the breathtaking pageantry that the British do so very, very well.

But instead of a royal wedding or solemnly mourning a monarch with a backward glance, it will be with a look forward to King Charles III and his queen

consort as they are crowned and a new monarchy begins to evolve.

Britain has an extraordinary royal history beginning in 1066 when William the Conqueror sailed

from France to fight the Anglo-Saxon kings and begin a new rule following the famed Battle of Hastings.

Britain has had over 60 kings and queens, depending on how you count, spanning well over 1,000 years.

All the brilliant British pomp and circumstance we will shortly see, and it will be focused on Westminster Abbey,

the site of coronations since Williams in the 11th century. The soaring Gothic Abbey Church that we

see today was begun in the 13th century and has been the site in addition to coronations

of royal funerals and royal weddings.

This show, with my very special guest, we'll take a look back at several of Britain's

most famous royal reigns, with some bits of backstory, perhaps we didn't know.

We'll look at the world of Queen Victoria, whose reign sits firmly in the usual

time frame of the gilded gentleman, and we'll look forward into how a modern monarchy might

perhaps evolve.
