Summary
Do you know the difference between a headache and a migraine?
If you do experience migraines from time to time, you most certainly know the answer to this question, and you know how it impacts your ability to do even often the very routine activities.
There’s a lot of stigma around migraines, especially because there’s fairly little research on it and most people don’t understand it yet. But advances in this area are being made, and in today’s episode, my guest, Michael, is going to shed some light around it. He explains where migraines originate from, what are they triggered by, how can we treat them, and what people suffering from migraines can do to lower their frequency of occurrence.
Michael Marmura is Director of the Outpatient Practice at the Jefferson Headache Center – one of the leading headache centers in the world. He’s also an associate professor in the Department of Neurology at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. Michael is the author of the book ‘Essential neuropharmacology’ and has also written widely in other areas and he is a frequent speaker not only for patients and medical students but also in the training of other doctors.
