Rider safety has never been more important, especially in motocross.

Here are the top eight things that I'm going to tell you track owners and operators what to do to keep your riders safe.

CrashCart from Whiskey Throttle Media. I've worked with professional and amateur motocross racers now for over 15 years,

and I've been to a lot of tracks across the country,

from your Wild West local amateur spot to the biggest AMA Pro Nationals in the country.

And I've noticed a few things that I'd like to share with you guys,

especially you track owners and you track operators.

Not going to be critical here, I operators not going to be critical here i'm not going to be criticizing but i think there's some things that we can all do um to keep riders safer

in our sport number one you track operators and you track owners you know the area better than anyone

so on all these posts and all of these little things around your area i want you to post up

a little something um about all of the local pharmacies,

about the local hospitals, put their phone numbers on, and maybe directions or a little QR code

to Google Map or something, something that can make it very easy for a spectator or an injured

rider or a family to use in the event of an emergency. Heck, you could even put on there some local gas stations and local eateries.

Maybe they'll sponsor it for you.

Number two, host some rider safety meetings, extra from what you would do on a race day.

Here at Wildwood Motorcross Track in Kentwood, Louisiana, I'm really impressed with how the owners take the time

to teach new families and new riders some basics about how you fit with helmets

What to do in the event of a downed rider even some basic fundamentals while riding and racing

I think all of our tracks should take that responsibility and perform some of those meetings
