The story today is extraordinary because the killer was so ordinary. He's often described as,

quote, normal looking by both victims and friends. He had everything to live for, two years into his medical degree and an upcoming marriage.

He was known as the Craigslist killer.

Philip Haynes Markoff was born on February 12, 1986, in Cheryl, New York, to parent Susan and Richard Markoff.

His father was, and is still a dentist.
