Summary

This week’s episode is a wild ride through food, fast-food empires, and brand drama. First up, I confess: I dined at the world’s first MrBeast Burger restaurant inside American Dream Mall—and it was like stepping into Dubai. I break down the massive mall, my burger order (two patties?? really?), and why crinkle fries on a bun actually work. From there, we dive into MrBeast’s chocolate empire, Feastables, and how he’s taking over your Target checkout aisle.

Then, we have to talk Cracker Barrel—why fans are furious over logo changes, remodels, and “losing the charm” of rocking chairs and peg games. Is it really about nostalgia, branding, or just misdirected outrage? Plus, the tea on Carbone’s B health grade, the hype vs. reality of dining there, and why bread + parm might be the real stars of the show.

We wrap with something sweeter: my ode to granola, the gift bag treat from Eleven Madison Park you need to try making at home.

Welcome to I Know You Didn't Ask, the unapologetic, unfiltered, and slightly unhinged podcast you didn't know you needed. I'm your host, Megyn O'Donnell, pop culture obsessive, professional oversharer, and the host of your new favorite five-day-a-week fix for celebrity gossip, reality TV chaos, books, food news, beauty tips, and of course, navigating your life in your 30s. I know you didn't ask, but I'm telling you anyways. Sit back, grab a drink, and enjoy the show. What is up, everybody? Welcome to I Know You Didn't Ask. I'm your host, Megan O'Donnell, and today is food news. We have a lot to talk about people. And of course, today especially, we are going to be disassociating from what's happening in America.

Happy 9-11.

0:59.5

Never forget.

1:00.7

But yeah, we are not getting into anything political today or really ever.

1:03.9

I think people are going to be seeking nonsense content, non-tent, I don't know, during these dark times, because if we weren't divided enough,

1:14.6

whatever happened yesterday, divided us even further. But you know what brings people together?

1:21.0

Food. Sharing food, sitting around a table, sharing stories, building community. And that's what food is for me.

1:30.6

And I think we just have to talk about some recipes I've been making lately. First and foremost is

1:35.1

a corn pasta dish from Carla Lolle music, which actually she might just be going by Carla Lolle now post-divorce,

1:41.8

R-I-P, to that relationship, but whatever. And she makes this delicious

1:47.0

corn pasta. And it is almost the end of summer. I'm clinging on for dear life. But she makes this

1:52.6

corn pasta with fregola, which is a Sardinian kuskos. And it's similar to an Israeli kuskos.

1:59.8

And it's absolutely perfection. You basically make a

2:04.4

quick little sauce with garlic and shallots and fennel. Then you cook the fregola. Of course,

2:10.8

you save some of the pasta water. And then you end up putting the fregula, the pasta water,

2:17.1

the corn in one pan. And you cook it, of course,

2:20.6

with, you know, a little parmesan cheese and some other little fixings.

2:25.4

And it is quite literally the best pasta you will ever make.
